PRIVILEGE SYSTEM
This system is designed as a merit system to reward achievement in academic and behavioral areas at school. Privileges will be issued each quarter in the student’s name and are not transferable to another student.
I. Ways in which privileges may be earned are as follows:
1. ACADEMIC - A. Highest Honor Roll (3.67-4.00) - 2 B. High Honor Roll (3.00-3.66) - 1 C. Improvement of .5 GPA from one quarter to the next - 3
2. PUNCTUALITY/DEPENDABILITY - - No tardies (to school) and no absences - 1
3. BEHAVIOR - No detentions in a quarter - 1 - Discretion of teacher for outstanding display of a character trait, outstanding improvement in attitude, etc. - 1
II. Privileges can be spent in the following ways:
1. Remove one assigned semester test- 10 All students must take at least three tests but may use privileges to get out of any number above that. Privileges cannot be used to remove any of the first two required tests. After 6 counts of absence, you can no longer buck out of any semester tests. 2. Exemption from dish duty for one week - 5 3. Remove a non-misconduct detention - 5 4. Miss a regular class with teacher’s permission - 5 privileges plus permission from the teacher. You may come late or leave school early. Missing a period of school will still be counted as an absence but will not count against your next privilege. 5. Play computer games during study hall - 2 6. Shoot baskets during study hall - 2 7. Have pop in study hall - 1
Privileges for #1 & 4 must be turned into the office no later than 8:15 the day you wish to use your privileges. # 2 must be turned into the office by 8:15 Thursday morning for the next week. #3 must be done at least the day before. #5-7 must be given to the teacher in charge.
