JVCS ATHLETIC RULES

1.  All rules of JVC, stated in the handbook, will be followed.

2.  A technical foul on any player will result in that player being taken out of the game for a period to be determined by the coach.

3.  Profanity is unacceptable at any time and will be punished in a way that best fits the situation as determined by the coach.

4.  Missing practice with no valid reasons will result in that player missing playing time.  Valid excuses would be:  sickness, emergency, or a school activity.  Decisions about doctor appointments will be made on an individual basis.  Try to schedule them for other times, such as Saturday, or game days.  Transportation problems will not be excused.

5.  Absences in whole or part, not cleared with the coach AHEAD of time will result in a full game suspension.  Prior approval is mandatory. An unexcused absence includes being held for discipline by a teacher and missing practice in whole or part.  This will result in missing playing time.

6.  Drinking, smoking, immorality, etc. will be dealt with under the JVC policy.

7.  All players must ride to and from away games on the bus unless your parents sign you out.  You will be expected to ride home with an adult, not with another friend, or with a boy/girl friend, or sibling.

8.  Initial physicals are required for all athletes.  They are good for three years.  Athletes must complete an interim physical each year.  A doctor's signature is not needed on the interim physical unless there are "yes" answers to any of the questions.

9.  Any school-issued uniforms, warm-ups, etc. are to be worn to the athletic event only.  They are not to be worn at the athlete’s discretion outside of a school athletic event.  Lost or damaged uniforms, warm-ups, equipment, etc. are to be replaced by the athlete.

10.  No athlete is allowed in the gym or weight room without parental or staff supervision outside of school hours.  A parent must come get a key from a coach and return it as soon as possible after the workout.
